Gold, Harry P. THE DOLPHIN'S PATH A BOOKMAN'S SEQUEL TO THE ODYSSEY OF HOMER. Chapel Hill, N.C.: Harry Gold (Aberdeen Book Company), 1979. 319 pages. First edition. Limited to 1,000 copies. Original cloth.

A near fine copy with presentation: "To the grandmother of Green Sugar, Frances and Norton, the poems on 'Sugarplums' from pages of 153 to 155 are dedicated. Harry 9/9/79".

This is a bookseller's memoir in verse. Gold was a Fourth Avenue bookseller in New York before being implicated in the theft of Poe's Tamerlaine from the New York Public Library.

This offering is unique in that it also includes original manuscript poetry: "To Frances Beach, A Slightly Irregular Sonnet" signed "Harry P. Gold" and "Sugarplums Dedicated to Frances Beach: Six additional poems". These six are stapled together and have a few edge tears. They are all in the author's hand, and each is signed with initials, "H.P.G".
