This copy does not have a map. The last six unnumbered pages consist of advertisements. Cover title reads: "Facts about Mississippi for immigrants".

First edition. Pamphlet. Front wrapper is detached and chipped about the edges and has a blue rubber stamping which reads: MERIDIAN, MISS., OFFERS,!!! Free Sites & Exemption from all Taxation for 10 years to Factories. See page 92 of this book". Additionally, "Return" has been written at the top margin of the front wrapper in period brown ink. The rear wrapper is detached too and has a triangular piece missing from its lower corner. The text block is still sound with the signatures securely sewn together as when issued.

A rare piece of 19th century Mississippi State promotional literature. The Introductory Note states: "Mississippi has long felt the need of some publication which should present the facts in regard to her wonderful agricultural and manufacturing resources in such a form as should be an aid to the thousands of northern and western men who are now looking to the South as their future home."
