United Daughters of the Confederacy. Virginia Division. Richmond Chapter. FLAGS OF THE CONFEDERATE STATES OF AMERICA 1861-65. [Richmond, Va.: Lithographed by A. Hoen, 1926].

14 pages, including five color plates. Original stiff decorative wrappers with Confederate flags in red, white, and blue. Covers are lightly soiled and show some slight scattered staining. A very good copy of this scarce and informative work.

The Introduction states: "It having come to our knowledge that the design of the Confederate flags. as adopted by the Confederate Congress and used during the War Between the States, is not being adhered to by Flag Makers, and wishing to preserve a record of these Flags of the Confederacy to hand down to our children, that they may know the true flags under which their Forefathers fought and died".

Gives exact dimensions and other regulations for correctly making the four flags adopted into use by the Confederate States of America: The stars and Bars, The Battle Flag, The First National Flag, and the Second National Flag.
